I was trying to find out where on earth the east side of the LBC was (I'm not from USA...lol), and then I found this masterpiece. I never read blogs, but this was hilarious and well worth the read. Love it. I will definitely be listening to the song differently from now on :D

This interpretation is obviously not serious and meant as a joke(?) but i can imagine a lot of non-native speakers not getting it. I myself almost almost fell for it thinking the blogger was at least half serious.

So here are a few points that are very wrong:

1. "Trick" has nothing to do with pulling tricks with your car. Trick is slang for having sex with hookers. Nate is not trying to seduce them, he knows they are hookers and he can just pay them. And anyway he doesnt have time for that shit because he is looking for his friend. He is basically just say "bros before hoes". The psychological interpretation about Nate wanting to be loved for who he is was pretty funny though.

2. The whole thing about the G-Funk era is refering to gangsta rap era of the 90s. Rappers were rapping about their gangsta lives and living their songs. I guess its worth pointing that out because a lot of people are now too young to know about that era.

Sadly, the blogger missed an opportunity to go even further and say that the whole song is a pitch for a new Netflix drama about dating in the hood. I'm sure a few millenials would have believed it!

Using the music video as reference, the hookers looking so hard were also in a vehicle and ran up on the curb. That’s why their car broke down.
